Fuel cells
Touted as the technology of the future, fuel cell development is rapid. In theory, fuel cells offer us fast recharging/refueling for all-day flying. I think that it will be a while before we see fuel cells with the required size, power density and efficiency to be usable in our sport.

- A hydrogen fuel cell-powered 10kg (22lb) helicopter model with a 2m (6.55ft) rotorspan has been flown for 20min by United Technologies. This looks like the first time a fuel cell with the power density to drive a helicopter is demonstrated.
